FAQ

Straight answers, before you ask.

The questions kitchen owners actually ask us, answered the way we answer them on WhatsApp.

What temperature should a commercial chiller hold?

Food-safety guidance from the US FDA puts the danger zone between roughly 4°C and 60°C — inside it, some bacteria can double in around 20 minutes. A commercial chiller should hold your food safely below that zone, and a freezer far below it. If your current unit struggles to hold temperature, ask us — that is usually the machine telling you something.

What do the energy ticks on a commercial fridge mean?

Ticks are Singapore's energy-efficiency rating from the NEA registered goods database — more ticks, less electricity for the same cold. Every tick figure on this site comes straight from that registry, including the estimated annual running cost.

Can the Energy Efficiency Grant help pay for my fridge?

Energy-efficient commercial refrigerators are among the equipment categories the EEG supports for eligible SMEs. Whether your business qualifies depends on the current criteria. Send us the model you are considering and we will help you check — see our EEG page for every listed model we carry.

Should I repair my old fridge or replace it?

Honest answer: it depends on the machine's age, what failed, and what it costs to run. We service what we sell, so we have no reason to push you either way. Send a photo of the unit and what happened, and we will give you a straight recommendation.

Which brands does Alan carry?

Fukushima Galilei — our flagship — plus Berjaya, Kadeka and Kojima. We choose, supply, install and service them, and every brand has models on the official Energy Efficiency Grant list.

Do you deliver and install?

Yes — island-wide, by the same team that services the unit afterwards. Tell us your location and access (lift, stairs, doorway width) and we will plan it with the quote.
